Terms & Conditions – Assure Roof Surveys

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) set out the basis on which Assure Roof Surveys (“Assure”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides roof inspection and survey services to you (“Client”, “you”, “your”). By instructing us, you agree to these Terms in full.

1. Definitions

​

  • Services – The roof inspection, survey, reporting, consultancy or related services agreed in writing.

  • Report – Any written or digital report, imagery, or supporting documentation provided following a survey.

  • Property – The building or structure inspected.

  • Agreement – The contract formed when you instruct Assure Roof Surveys and we accept that instruction.

2. About Assure Roof Surveys

​

Assure Roof Surveys provides independent, professional roof inspections and condition surveys across Scotland.

​

We are entirely independent:

 

  • We do not carry out roof repairs or replacement works

  • We do not tender for, quote for, or endorse contractors

  • Our role is inspection, assessment, and reporting only

All opinions provided are based on professional experience and the roof condition observable at the time of inspection.

​

3. Scope of Services

​

3.1 Services Offered

​

​Services may include (but are not limited to):​

​

  • Visual Roof Surveys

  • Invasive Roof Surveys (where safe and accessible)

  • Drone / Restricted Access Surveys

  • Roof Condition Reports

  • Annual Roof Health Checks

  • Post-repair or Post-works Inspections

  • Professional Consultancy

​​Service descriptions and indicative pricing are published on our website. Final fees depend on property size, complexity, location, and access.

3.2 What Is Included​

​

Unless expressly agreed in writing, our Services include:​

​

  • Inspection of accessible roof elements

  • Identification of visible defects and deterioration

  • Professional opinion based on observed condition

  • Photographic or image evidence where available

  • A CONcISE WRITTEN REPORT WITH RECOMmENDATIONS BASED ON OUR 14-POINT CHECKLIST

3.3 What Is Not Included

​

Unless expressly agreed in writing:

​

  • Repair specifications or contractor scopes

  • Cost estimates, valuations, or pricing

  • Guarantees or warranties

  • Compliance certification

4. Access, Safety & Site Conditions

​

4.1 Client Responsibilities

​

You must:

​

  • Ensure you have authority to instruct the survey

  • Provide safe, legal access to the Property

  • Inform us of known hazards or restrictions

​​

4.2 Safety First

​

Assure Roof Surveys will not work in unsafe conditions. This includes (but is not limited to):

​

  • Adverse weather

  • Unsafe ladders or roof access

  • Fragile roofs or structures

  • Risk to surveyor safety

​​

If inspection is restricted or aborted for safety reasons, no liability attaches to Assure And the minimum site visit fee of £150 will remain applicable.

​

5. Fees & Payment

​

5.1 Fees

​

Fees are confirmed in writing prior to survey. Website prices are indicative and not binding.

 

5.2 Payment Terms

​

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

​

  • full Payment is due on the day of the survey visit

  • Services may be staged with agreed payment schedules

​​

5.3 Late Payment

​

Late payments may attract interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily.

​

6. Reports – Use & Limitations

​

6.1 Intended Use

​

Reports:

​

  • Reflect roof condition at the time of inspection only

  • Are based on visible and accessible elements

  • Are professional opinions, not guarantees

​​

6.2 Hidden Defects

​

No inspection can identify all defects. Concealed, latent, or future issues may exist.

​

6.3 Third-Party Reliance

​

Reports are prepared for the named Client only.

​

No third party may rely on a Report without written consent from Assure Roof Surveys.

​

7. Legal & Insurance Use

​

Where specifically instructed, Assure Roof Surveys can provide reports suitable for:

 

  • Mediation

  • Dispute resolution

  • Legal proceedings

  • Insurance purposes

​​

​Such reports remain limited to factual observation and professional opinion and do not include costings unless expressly agreed.

​

8. Intellectual Property

​

All Reports, images, documents, and materials produced remain the intellectual property of Assure Roof Surveys.

​

Clients are granted a licence to use Reports for the agreed purpose only.

​

9. Cancellation, rescheduling & Refunds

​

9.1 Client Cancellation

​

Cancellations or rescheduling require at least 48 hours’ notice.

​

Late cancellations may be chargeable.

​

9.2 Assure Cancellation

​

We reserve the right to reschedule due to:

​

  • Weather

  • Unsafe access

  • Circumstances beyond our control

​

9.3 Refund Policy

​

Assure Roof Surveys provides professional inspection and reporting services.  Once a survey has been carried out and the service delivered, no refunds can be offered, as the work has been completed in full.​If a booking is cancelled before the survey takes place, any refund entitlement will be considered in line with our cancellation terms.​This policy does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

10. Liability

​

10.1 Limitation

​

Assure Roof Surveys’ total liability, whether in contract or negligence, is limited to the fee paid for the Service.

​

10.2 Exclusions

​

We are not liable for:

​

  • Indirect or consequential loss

  • Loss of value or profit

  • Costs incurred by third parties

​​

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

 

11. Data Protection & Privacy

​

Personal data is handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation.


Property images may be used for marketing purposes unless you request otherwise in writing.   No identifying addresses or street names will be published.

 

12. Complaints

We aim to resolve complaints fairly and promptly.

​

13. Governing Law

​

These Terms are governed by Scots law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
